General Try-out Information

• Try-outs are closed to all parents
• Try-outs are performed by independent evaluators with one site coordinator.
• Each player is given a tryout jersey, to be returned at the end of the try-out, and will be referred to as that number.
• Try-outs are a three day process with specific drills to measure each players basketball abilities so they can be placed on a team that best matches their individual abilities based on the three day tryout.
• 4th Grade: 10 players on each team.
• 5th Grade: 10 players on each team.
• 6th Grade: 8 players on A level team and 10 players each on B1, B2, C level teams.
• 7th Grade: 8 players on A level team and 10 players each on B1, B2, C level teams.
• 8th Grade: 8 players on A level team and 10 players each on B1, B2, C level teams.
• 9th Grade: 10 players on each team.

Important Notes:

• Players who try out for Travel (grades 6-8) and do not make a Travel team need to contact Sheri at slhpete@yahoo.com to be correctly placed on a Southwest.  
• All other Southwest players must come to evaluations and be registered and paid in full. A player with an unexcused absence from the evaluations will be placed on a team on a space available basis.
